Eating disorders change you, so it is no surprise that they influence your habits. For me, this happened in strange and embarrassing ways...
In fact, many of these I share candidly in my fictional memoirs, Just Perfect and Red Ribbons, so check those out as well if you haven't already.

Everyone recovering from an eating disorder deals with digestive issues. Everyone. Your body suddenly has to deal with increased intakes after periods of starvation, or more consistent and uncompensated meals after weeks, months or years of binging and purging. And this makes recovery just that bit extra difficult. Hold on – don’t turn back just yet.

Including some exclusive photos, this video was a difficult one for me to make. It was also a difficult evening for me to cope. But everyone has bad days, right? So... how can you deal with bad days and still progress in recovery?

I’ve been in and out of therapy my entire life, struggling as I was bullied, fell deeply into a depression, and then developed an eating disorder that stayed with me for 7 years. Therapies never seemed to help me. That is, until I discovered hypnotherapy. And meditation. One visualization technique changed my life.

Today we are talking about why you lost your period, primary and secondary amenorrhea, and how to get your period back. Although not having to go through some of the downsides of having a monthly menstrual cycle, not having your period is not a good thing, and it can affect your body aversely! I share some of my own struggles and advice.

"Just have some pie/pizza/ice cream and it will be ok." Well, that's not really how it goes. Recovery takes time. That's why people rely on intuitive eating. But what exactly is intuitive eating, and how is it done?

Time to answer some questions, this time having a look at how many calories I eat, how many you should eat, where your calories in recovery should come from, and how much exercise I do. So, do you think you are eating enough? And is your diet balanced?

I put out new videos frequently, recording full days of what I eat and my thoughts on my progress and changes in my way of thinking. Check them out to find out what I eat, what I have to say about intuitive eating, and how I approach portion sizes.

Hospitalized first in Hungary in 2009, I slowly crawled back to the surface... until in 2013 a life-changing move again brought me to hospital, this time in Slovakia.
My weight did not budge and I went into treatment in Belgium. Over the course of all of this I tried out CBT, hypnotherapy, etc...
Check out this video and open your eyes to the options available for YOUR recovery.

In recovery, we learn how to deal with night sweats, weight gain, acne/skin issues, digestive distress, and so much more. Don't worry though -- we're all in the same boat, the discomfort is temporary, and there are ways to deal with it.

Exercise can be a relief, a confidence-boost and a pleasure. It can also be a burden, a stress, and an addiction.
Whereas the latter used to apply to me (and to so many others struggling with an ED), the former is now true. What is exercise for you?

Sarah, France
Hanne has been a god-sent. She listens and understands me in a way no previous treatments and therapists have, without allowing this to let the eating disorder prosper.
Because she has been through it all herself, she knows what to look out for and she doesn't allow the eating disorder to make the decisions.
The perfect support and accountability I needed!
Eva, Netherlands
Hanne is an intelligent woman who has provided me with new perspectives and insights into my eating disorder thoughts and behaviors. She is respectful, to the point, and genuinely considers individual circumstances and needs.
I recommend working with Hanne one-on-one to anyone who struggles with limiting beliefs and behaviors around food.
Angela, United States
I believe I would not have been able to be super comfortable with food as I am now (especially peanuts, nuts, bread and nut butters ) without the help of Hanne!
Many thanks to this dear helpful lady!
