An Eating Disorder at Christmas: When 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year' Feels the Hardest

If you're struggling with an eating disorder at Christmas, you already know something the festive adverts never show: December can be HEAVY. It's not all mince pies and cosy nights in.

While everyone around you seems to be counting down to the big day, part of you might be counting down for a different reason... waiting for it all to be over.

Here's what I wish someone had told me years ago: the voice telling you Christmas would be easier if you just disappeared is the eating disorder talking.

The eating disorder thrives on routine, control, and predictability. Christmas dismantles all three at once.

The disrupted routines, the food absolutely everywhere, and the comments from loved ones amidst the loss of your usual supports... it creates the perfect storm.

I've written a longer guide with 7 supportive tools to survive Christmas with an eating disorder. They're things you can start doing now to make December feel less heavy.

And if you want support that doesn't pause for the holidays: my program Reset & Recover combines group coaching, private sessions, and between-session messaging to help you build real, lasting freedom, with support throughout the festive season, when you need it most.

The next cohort begins October 5th. Waitlist members get first access + free recovery gifts.
